Shikha M., Walnut Creek, CAI have been coming to Riyas for about 10+ years now. Before them, I tried MANY other salons, none were able to do what Riyas can do. The owners are great people who really accommodate to your time, sometimes I will show up 5 minutes before closing and they still stay late to provide services.
No one in the bay area can do eyebrows like Kanchan and Happy- hands down the best brow shapers I have ever met. They have waxing, threading, facials, mehndi/henna and a load of other services, all of which I have tried. No complaints. I travel 40 min to get my brows done from them- thats how good they are!
I HIGHLY recommend this place! I am a customer for life!

The place looks the same but they have hired more people, and now you get a stamp card (10 stamps and you get a free eyebrow threading, you know the deal). Also helpful to know that they validate parking.
They still do great work! They have expanded their menu of services as well. I’ll probably stick to their eyebrow services for when I happen to be in the area.
Heather C., Oakland, CAFast, thorough, and excellent. “Ken-chen” – I’m not sure how to properly spell her name but she’s the one… The women in my family (mother, sisters, etc.) and I have been going to her for years. Her prices can’t be beat ($13 for brow and upper lip) and ultimately, it’s all about TRUST. She knows exactly how to do my brows when I am under her steady hands and eyes.
Even though I now live in SM, I still drive all the way to Berkeley to see her. Ideally, I’m in the East Bay for other affairs but yesterday, I did the drive only to get my brows done (it had been too loooong!).
Sure I wish I had a closer alternative but the trust thing… with your eyebrows… you get me?
p.s. Saturdays are busy – shoulda made a reservation – but still worth the wait. She’s fairly quick. Also, note to self, she no longer works at the University Ave. location.
Sara G., Berkeley, CAI am happy with the threading they do at Riya. I was previously going to a threading place on MLK and University but my eyebrows never looked right. Now I only go to Riya. I normally ask for the younger woman as she does a better job in my opinion.
Don’t expect friendly service or a cushy salon…it’s just a place to have good quality threading done for a reasonable price!
